Concept

CURA (Connected Units for Respiratory Ailments and also “cure” in Latin) uses repurposed shipping containers to create compact plug-in Intensive-Care Units (ICU) that can be quickly deployed in cities around the world, promptly responding to the spread of coronavirus.

Our aim is to support hospitals and communities as they struggle to treat an increasing number of patients with respiratory infections.

CURA aims to be as fast to be mounted as a hospital tent, but as safe as an isolation ward to work in, thanks to biocontainment equipment with negative pressure.

The first prototype of CURA, developed with the sponsorship of the Pan European bank Unicredit, has been built and installed in Turin, Italy.

CURA is a non-for-profit, open-source project.
